Gujarat Titans' Mohammad Shami scalped his 100th IPL wicket in the opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season against Chennai Super Kings on Friday.

The 32-year-old took the wicket of Devon Conway and got to the three-figure mark. With the ball moving around a bit in the initial few overs, Mohammad Shami kept it tight outside the off stump and was instantly rewarded with the big wicket of the New Zealander.

Conway looked a bit rusty during his 6-ball stay and threw his wicket away. A good length delivery from around the stumps and it nipped back in with the angle. Conway plays away from the body as the ball sneaked through the gap and shattered the stumps.

The crowd went wild as the defending champions drew the first blood. 

Talking about the match, Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first. Joshua Little is making his debut for the Titans, while Rajvardhan Hangargekar is playing his first match for the Super Kings.

At the time of writing, CSK are 25 for 1, with Ruturaj Gaikwad starting to loosen up.
