List of All Injured Players in the IPL And Their Replacements so Far

Fans are super stoked for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 to begin and their wait comes to an end tomorrow when players of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will battle it out in the tournament-opener.

However, even before the competition, most of the franchises suffer from their players' injuries which disturb the playing combination at least for their respective opening games.

Royal Challengers Bangalore is most-affected as three of their key players got exposed to injuries. There is no clarity on Rajat Patidar and Josh Hazlewood's availability; Will Jacks has been ruled out for the entirety of the season.

The most successful IPL team Mumbai Indians will have Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson unavailable for them throughout the season.

CSK have roped in Sisanda Magala as Kyle Jamieson's replacement. While Magala will miss out on the first few matches for Chennai due to national commitments, their domestic lead-pacer from the last season Mukesh Chaudhary will also not feature for the Yellow Army this year. In his place, Akash Singh has been called up to join the Chennai-based side.

As for Punjab Kings, Matthew Short has joined the squad in place of Jonny Bairstow. Liam Livingstone may also be dicey for Punjab's first match in the tournament.

Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders will miss the services of their regular skippers Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, who have been replaced in the leadership role by David Warner and Nitish Rana.

Pacer Mohsin Khan is also a no certainty in Lucknow Super Giants' XI if the reports on his injury are to be believed. Rajasthan Royals too have brought in Sandeep Sharma as Prasidh Krishna's substitute.

Hyderabad, Gujarat stay unaffected

Fortunately for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans, they have not yet called for reinforcements. However, international cricket has put them in a spot of bother.

While South Africa's Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen and Heinrich Klaasen will play an ODI series versus the Netherlands till April 2 and, therefore will not join Hyderabad's squad until then, their compatriot David Miller will also be unavailable for Gujarat in the initial stages of IPL 2023.
