It was a disappointing season for the Chennai Super Kings who ended their IPL 2022 campaign on the ninth position with just four wins from fourteen games. The four-time champions will look to revive their fortune when they return for the 16th edition of the showpiece event.

The captain-coach duo of Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni have always been at the core of the franchise right from 2009. However, recalling a moment from 2020, the Kiwi remembered how he was left stunned after seeing almost 20,000 fans in the stadium gathered to witness CSK, especially Dhoni practice at Chepauk.

The left-hander while speaking on Yellow Army's official channel mentioned how he had never experienced something like that before in his life which left a sudden impact on him. He further spoke about the excitement and craze that people have for MS, which is unbelievable.

"The noise is a part of it. You associate that with the game. It was actually a practice day that really struck home to me when we came back in and MS came out to bat and it was something like 20,000 people for our homecoming.

"Just the excitement and that noise for a training, was something I haven't experienced before. It was really unique and I know a lot of players and a lot of people who took note of that."

Stephen Fleming's next assignment will be to coach CSK's sister franchise Joburg Super Kings in the SA20 league, playing in their maiden season.
