In a significant development, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially announced an extensive and exciting home international schedule for the 2026 season. Notably, the calendar includes the hosting of four Test matches, 12 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and nine Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The home season will commence in March, shortly after the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

BCB announces dates for postponed India vs Bangladesh white-ball series

The most notable announcement has been that of India's tour of Bangladesh 2026. It is worth noting that team India were scheduled to travel to Bangladesh for a white-ball series in 2025. However, due to the political tensions between the 2 countries, the tour was pushed to 2026.

"The series that was postponed earlier between Bangladesh and India has been rescheduled," Shahriar Nafees, BCB cricket operation in-charge told Cricbuzz.

According to the announced itinerary, the Indian team is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on August 28. The three ODIs are planned for September 1, 3, and 6, followed by three T20Is on September 9, 12, and 13, after which the visitors will depart.

BCB announced Bangladesh's home schedule for the 2026 season with the calendar featuring bilateral series against Pakistan, New Zealand, India, Australia and the West Indies across the three formats.

"The confirmed itinerary ensures a season full of international cricket in Bangladesh, providing supporters across the country the opportunity to watch top-level cricket at home while details of match venues will be announced in due course," BCB said in a statement.
