Hitting six sixes in an over is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and Maharashtra's Ruturaj Gaikwad ended up slamming seven in an over against Uttar Pradesh in the quarterfinals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022.

Gaikwad's onslaught off Shiva Singh reminded fans of Yuvraj Singh's six sixes off Stuart Broad in the inaugural edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007.

In an exclusive interview with BCCI.tv, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter revealed that he thought of Yuvraj's innings and always dreamt of having his name alongside the legend.

Here's what Gaikwad said

"To be honest, after the fifth six the only one person that crossed my mind was Yuvraj Singh. I had seen him hit six sixes in an over back then when I was very young, in the 2007 (T20) World Cup,

"I wanted be alongside him and that's why I wanted to go for the sixth one. I never thought any day, or in any dream, that I would be hitting six sixes in a row. It's a great pleasure, a great feeling to be alongside him (Yuvraj), just match that hype which is there around six sixes in an over or seven in an over."

Ruturaj slammed his third hundred of the VHT 2022 against Assam in Maharashtra's ongoing semi-final 2 clash, where he scored a fine 168.
