Promising keeper-batter Narayan Jagadeesan etched his name in history books as he blasted his way through to a memorable 141-ball 277 against Arunachal Pradesh in Tamil Nadu's sixth league-stage fixture in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Jagadeesan's brutal assault propelled Tamil Nadu to a record-breaking 505, which they defended successfully, bowling Arunachal Pradesh out for a meagre 71.

After Tamil Nadu's innings concluded, ace keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik took to his Twitter handle to lavish praise on Jagadeesan for his scintillating knock.

However, the 37-year-old also pointed out some drawbacks of the format and urged BCCI to have a separate group for the North-East teams to make the games more competitive.

Here's what Karthik tweeted

"Does it make sense to have the north east teams play the elite teams in the league phase? It just topples the run rates of teams and imagine if a match against one of these teams gets rained off! Can’t they have a separate group and then qualify ?"

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu have significantly boosted their net run rate after this emphatic win. They will take on second-placed Kerala in their final league-stage fixture on Wednesday in Bengaluru.
