Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 is all set to kick off in August and ahead of that the regular auction took place On Sunday, July 6, where Virender Sehwag's 14-year-old son faced a rejection. Vedant Sehwag went unsold in the DPL 2025 auction after having a decent run in the DDCA T-20 Cricket Tournament 2024-25. Despite a strong domestic showing, off-spinner Vedant, one of the youngest talents in the pool, went unpicked.
Vedant Misses Out Despite Promising Show
Vedant had previously garnered significant attention with his impressive performance for Delhi Under-16 in the Vijay Merchant Trophy, where he bagged 24 wickets in just five outings.
Virender Sehwag, had even publicly praised his son's efforts, calling it a "proud moment." This strong showing led many to believe at least one franchise would take a chance on the young spinner.

Meanwhile, Vedant's elder brother, Aaryavir a rising star in Delhi's U-19 cricket circuit, has consistently made headlines with his impressive batting performances. He delivered a remarkable innings, coming incredibly close to reaching the 300-run milestone for the Delhi state team.
Opening the innings, Aaryavir blazed an outstanding 297 runs against Meghalaya. This phenomenal knock, however, left him just shy of a unique challenge, which is missing out on a Ferrari, as he couldn't surpass his legendary father Virender Sehwag's highest Test score of 319.
