Buttler attended the press conference this Saturday organised by ICC before the T20 World Cup 2022 against Pakistan where the English skipper talked on multiple topics ranging from his team's chances in the finals to the future of English cricket.
When talked about picking his player of the tournament, Buttler showed no hesitation as he named Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav as his pick for the player of the tournament.
"I think Suryakumar Yadav, I think Suryakumar Yadav for me has been someone who's played with extreme freedom. He's been incredibly eye-catching to watch in such a star-studded line-up. To stand out the way he has is amazing,"
"Of course there's a couple of our guys on that sheet as well - Sam Curran and Alex Hales. If they put in a great performance in the final, they can be the Player of the Tournament for me,"
England will look to clinch the title this Sunday as the side look like strong favourites after the massive thrashing of India in the second semifinals. However, there is no belittling Pakistan who have what it takes to turn the tables on England.
