Ajay Jadeja questions Rohit Sharma's team-building after Adelaide humiliation

On Thursday, England decimated India by ten wickets in the second semifinal to secure their berth in the final. Bowling first, the Englishmen restricted India to a modest 168 and chased it successfully, courtesy of a ruthless opening stand of unbeaten 170 runs between Alex Hales and Jos Buttler. 

After the match concluded, former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja held skipper Rohit Sharma accountable for the team's shambolic performance in the semifinal. Jadeja highlighted Rohit's failure as a team-builder, citing his unavailability during most of the bilateral series India played prior to the tournament. 

The 51-year-old also reckoned that Rohit should have led India in all the pre-World Cup matches, as having a new leader in every other series deteriorates the balance of the team. 

Here's what Jadeja commented

"I would say one thing which might hurt Rohit Sharma. If you have to make a team as captain, you have to stick with the side for the entire year. How many series did Rohit Sharma play this year? I'm not saying this in hindsight, I've been saying this since before. Even in New Zealand, the coach isn't travelling,

"There should only be one leader in the team. If there are 7, it would be difficult."

Notably, Rohit Sharma missed some of the bilateral series, which saw multiple players donning the skipper's hat. Also, not participating in the series affected Rohit's batting form, as he looked rusty, performing in patches throughout the tournament.
