West Indies opening batter Kraigg Brathwaite has reached a major milestone by playing his 100th Test match, joining some of the biggest names in West Indies cricket history. The right-handed opener is now 10th on the list of most Tests played by a West Indies player.

Brathwaite has scored 5,943 runs in his career so far, including 12 centuries and a highest score of 212. His batting average of 32.83 may not be up to the standard of some of the legends, but his determination and grit have been responsible for several West Indies victories over the years.

He has also chipped in with the ball, taking 29 wickets, with a personal best of 6 for 29.

Kraigg Brathwaite Enters Elite Top 10 List

Former West Indies Test skipper Kraigg Brathwaite will play his 100th Test against Australia this week. After his Test debut in 201, Brathwaite has now become the 10th West Indian to reach the 100-Test mark.

The list of West Indies players with the most Test matches is topped by Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who played 164 Tests between 1994 and 2015. He is followed by legendary fast bowler Courtney Walsh (132 matches) and batting icons Brian Lara (130 matches) and Sir Vivian Richards (121 matches).

Brathwaite Earlier Quit Test Captaincy

Kraigg Brathwaite quit Test captaincy earlier this year. Roston Chase was named as his replacement. The 32-year-old all-rounder has featured in 49 Tests since his debut in 2016, scoring over 2,000 runs and taking 85 wickets. His appointment marks a fresh chapter for West Indies cricket, with hopes that his leadership can bring consistency and renewed energy to the team’s red-ball performances.
