The CSA T20 Challenge 2022 season continued on October 28 with two matches in Potchefstroom. Here is a look at the highlights from both those fixtures.

Warriors vs Titans

Titans crawled their way to a two-wicket win over Warriors and retained their top spot at the CSA T20 Challenge 2022 points table. After restricting the Warriors to a mere 119 off the back of Aaron Phangiso’s four-fer, Titans’ batters lost their top three within the first four overs of their run-chase.

Crucial 20s from skipper Sibonelo Makhanya and all-rounder Dayyaan Galiem ensured Titans crossed the finishing line with half-an-over to spare.

Brief scores:

Warriors: 119-7 (20)

Jordan Hermann 27 (33), Matthew Breetzke 26 (26)

Aaron Phangiso 4-23, Simon Harmer 2-12

Titans: 120-8 (19.3)

Dayyaan Galiem 29* (27), Sibonelo Makhanya 21 (23)

Glenton Stuurman 2-19, Ziyaad Abrahams 2-22

Titans won by two wickets

Knights vs Dolphins

The Knights lost their ninth wicket inside 17 overs before rains interrupted play at Potchefstroom. Openers Jacques Snyman (32) and Gihahn Cloete (16) were the two top scorers for the side and staged a 43-run opening stand upfront.

Notably, only one other batter reached the double digits thereafter as the Knights lost their subsequent eight wickets for just another 50 runs. Having been reduced to 93-9 at one stage, the tail-enders stretched the total towards the 100-run mark before rains halted play.

For the Dolphins, JJ Smuts and Prenelan Subrayen both claimed two wickets apiece.

Brief scores:

Knights: 100-9 (17.1)

Jacques Snyman 32 (17), Gihahn Cloete 16 (23)

JJ Smuts 2-15, Prenelan Subrayen 2-28
