Former England wicketkeeper Paul Nixon to coach Sindh

Former England wicket-keeper Paul Nixon will join Pakistan domestic side Sindh as head coach for a period of three months, starting in October. Nixon is currently the head coach of Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) since 2017.

The 51-year-old will be at the helm of affairs for Sindh, during the initial rounds of the Quaid e Azam Trophy 2022-23 and Pakistan Cup. He replaces former Pakistan international Ghulam Ali.

Nixon will be the second foreign coach contracted by the Pakistan Cricket Board after Paul Franks, who will coach Central Punjab. 

Nixon has coached Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise Jamaica Tallawahs to two championship titles while having worked with Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) club Chattogram Challengers in a similar capacity.

The new Sindh coach talked about interacting with young local talents and bringing experience back to his County.

Here's what Nixon said

 “I’m excited to work alongside several Pakistan internationals and to look at future stars. I’m confident the experience will help me gain new knowledge in a top-class environment, which I can bring back to the Foxes.”

The left-hander represented England in 19 ODIs and 1 T20I in 2007.
