India's star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is in fine touch with the bat, entered the history books on Monday, October 26, after he became the first Indian player in the history of red-ball cricket to smash 30 sixes in Test cricket in a calendar year.
In the second innings against New Zealand in the ongoing 2nd Test at the MCA stadium in Pune, Jaiswal amassed 77 (65), which featured nine fours and three sixes. With the three maximums, he smashed in the second innings, Jaiswal took his six tally to 32.
Jaiswal Smashes 30+ Test Sixes In A Calendar Year
Notably, he is the first Indian batter to smash 32 sixes in a calendar year and beat the likes of Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma, who are known for their six-hitting abilities, for this feat.
Previously, Sehwag was the first Indian player to break the 20-sixes mark in a year when he smashed 22 sixes in a calendar year in 2008.

A few weeks ago, India became the first team in Test history to smash 100 sixes in a calendar year across formats. They beat England's record of 89 sixes in 2022.
