In a significant blow, New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr has been ruled out for the remaining ODI's against India. It is important to note that she will miss the remaining matches after tearing her left quadricep muscle.
She injured herself during the first ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In that match, she made significant all-rounder contributions; with the ball, she scalped four wickets and with the bat, she made an unbeaten 25 runs.

The NZC confirmed her injury today (October 26) and stated that she underwent scans after the first ODI on October 24. The reports of her scan revealed that Amelia Kerr tore her left quadricep muscle. The injury requires three weeks of rest and recovery time, and Kerr is set to return home on October 27 to begin her rehabilitation.
“We’re really gutted for Melie. Injuries are always a challenging time for a player and we know how disappointed she is to not be able to play these games. Everyone knows how much of an integral part of this team Melie is so we’ll certainly miss her but we’re wishing her a speedy recovery,” said head coach Ben Sawyer.
With the final game of the three-match series scheduled for October 29, New Zealand will not be seeking a replacement, opting instead to continue with the existing squad. It is also worth noting that her absence will add to New Zealand's challenges, as they have already lost the first match of the series.
