Two-time champions Oval Invincibles Women endured a horrendous outing on Sunday afternoon as they registered their lowest-ever total of 80 against Welsh Fire Women at the Kia Oval in London.

Batting first, the Invincibles kept losing wickets at regular intervals, to eventually get shot down for 80 in 98 deliveries.

The plight of their batting performance can be gauged from the fact that apart from opener Lauren Winfield-Hill (42 off 35 deliveries), none of their batters could register double-digit scores.

In fact, Winfield scored more than half of the teams' total, and her 25-run partnership with No.11 Lizzie Scott helped the team get to 80.

Speaking of the Welsh Fire Women's bowling attack, champion South African pacer Shabnim Ismail was the aggressor-in-chief, claiming three prized scalps for the cost of just 12 runs in 20 deliveries.

Apart from Ismail, medium-pacer Georgia Elwiss and Alex Griffiths also chipped in with two wickets apiece.

In response, Welsh Fire suffered a batting collapse, thanks to a spectacular spell from Marizanne Kapp. But they eventually got over the line with three wickets and twenty balls to spare.
