Southern Brave catered themselves to an easy win over Northern Superchargers in match number eight of The Hundred Women's 2023 competition. Captain Anya Shrubsole starred with the ball as she rattled Superchargers' top-order during her 20-ball spell.

Earlier in the match, Shrubsole rattled Jemimah Rodrigues' stumps with a ripper and followed it up by dismissing Superchargers' number three Phoebe Litchfield a couple of deliveries later. Notably, Rodrigues' dismissal became one of the highlight moments from a rather one-sided game in Southampton, where hosts Southern Brave comfortably earned two points.

Shrubsole castles Rodrigues to set early ton for Brave win

Northern Superchargers openers Marie Kelly and Indian import Jemimah Rodrigues made their way into the crease after Southern Brave captain Anya Shrubsole had won the toss and opted to field first.

In the 10th ball, Shrubsole cleaned up Rodrigues with an in-swinging ripper to give her side an early advantage in the game.

The Southern Brave pacer also dismissed Phoebe Litchfield to finish with figures of 2-13 from her 20 deliveries. Her spell was instrumental in restricting the Northern Superchargers to just 100-8, a total easily overhauled by her side with 13 deliveries and five wickets to spare.

Southern Brave Women also catapulted themselves to the top of the points table with the win, and they will now face London Spirit in their next outing. The match is scheduled to be played at Lord's in London on August 8.
