[Watch] Sanju Samson Bamboozled by Akeal Hosein, Disappoints Indian Fans Yet Again

Ahead of the 2nd T20I against the West Indies, Sanju Samson required nine more runs to complete 6,000 T20 runs. However, the 28-year-old did not last long to get there on Sunday (August 6), and Indian fans left disappointed after watching him fall without doing much damage to the opposition.

Samson came to bat at No. 6 in the first T20I in Tarouba. Unfortunately, a run-out forced him to leave the field after a mere run-a-ball 12.

Many questioned Hardik Pandya for sending him to bat lower down the order, and the ace all-rounder gave his teammate a chance to prosper by promoting him a place up in the following match.

Samson got off to an ideal start in Guyana, hitting Romario Shepherd for four runs on the second delivery. Five balls later, he went down the track and tried to slog Akeal Hosein for six.

However, the ball turned away sharply, and Samson failed to make any connection to it. He tried to go back to the crease, but Nicholas Pooran took little time to whip the bails, resulting in Samson departing after another flop show.

India, meanwhile, finished the innings on 152/7, with Tilak Varma top-scoring by notching his maiden T20I half-century. Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein, and Romario Shepherd took two wickets apiece for West Indies, while Obed McCoy and Jason Holder also brilliantly bowled despite remaining wicketless.
