Shubman Gill-led India will take on Ben Stokes’s England in the first Test of the five-match series starting Friday, June 20, at Headingley in Leeds. This series marks a new beginning for India in Test cricket, especially after the retirement of legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma from the longest format. What Happened In Last England vs India Match At Headingley?
In 2021, India faced England in the third Test of the series. That match didn’t go well for India. England, led by Joe Root, crushed India by an innings and 76 runs.
India batted first but had a terrible start. They were bowled out for just 78 runs. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer with only 19 runs off 105 balls. Craig Overton and James Anderson took two wickets each and broke India’s batting line-up.
