Team India overcame England on a thrilling Day 5 at The Oval to level the five-match series 2-2. Defending just 35 runs for a win at the start of the day, Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj cleaned up the English tail alongside pace partner Prasidh Krishna.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of Day 5 of the fifth Test between England and India, as it panned out at The Oval in London on Monday, August 4.

Mohammed Siraj Completes Five To Inspire Indian Win

Defending just 35 runs to start Day 5, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj dismissed both English overnight batters Jamie Smith and Jamie Overton within the first 20 minutes of play. Josh Tongue survived for 12 deliveries with Gus Atkinson taking charge at the other end.

However, Tongue got cleaned up by a peach from Prasidh Krishna (4-126), prompting injured Chris Woakes to come out as number 11 with just one arm. Atkinson clubbed a huge six, took a single off the last ball for a couple of overs, before the cricketer got done-in by a Siraj special as Team India clinched the series-deciding Test by mere six runs.

Joe Root, Harry Brook Tons Led English Command On Day 4

Chasing 374 runs for a win, England slipped to 106-3 on Day 4 before middle-order batters Joe Root and Harry Brook plundered majestic centuries in their monumental 195-run partnership. The two cricketers extended England’s total past the 300-run mark, before crucial breakthroughs from Akash Deep and Prasidh Krishna tilted the tide back in India’s favour by stumps.
