On Saturday, March 8, India Masters locked horns against West Indies Masters at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. However, much to fans' disappointment, who turned up in thousands to see their idol play, Sachin Tendulkar sat on the bench.

Yuvraj Singh walked up for the toss and stepped in as stand-in skipper in Sachin's absence, who was present in the stadium and sat in the dug-out with the rest of the team. Meanwhile, this article will shed light on why Sachin is not playing today's Internationals Masters League match 12 vs West Indies' Masters.

Why Is Sachin Tendulkar Not Playing Against West Indies Masters?

It is worth noting that stand-in skipper Yuvraj Singh revealed that the master blaster has picked up a niggle after the last match against Australia, which is why he misses out against West Indies. Another reason behind the change was the lack of reason to rush Tendulkar to play as India Masters have already qualified for the semi-finals.

At present, India Masters are placed on top of the table with six points in four matches. Out of the six teams, top four will advance further and India have already done the same.

Sachin Tendulkar's Performance in IML 2025

It is worth noting that the master blaster has enjoyed a mixed season so far. He has 114 runs in four innings, averaging 28.50. Despite two failures with the bat, Sachin's best knock came against Australia where he smashed 64 (33).

Talking about the ongoing match, then the Blasters have got off to the perfect start and Sachin's injury doesn't look serious as the former India star is all set to return to the playing XI in semi-finals.
