The forthcoming 18th season of the Indian Premier League is going to be the second time when Rajasthan Royals are going to don the “Pink Promise Jersey”. The development was confirmed via several social media posts on International Women’s Day, i.e., March 8.

Although RR usually supports a jersey of the same colour, this particular outfit is worn during one of their home matches in Jaipur. Having done the same against Royal Challengers Bangalore last year, they’ll be doing it against Mumbai Indians on May 1 this year. Dedicating a match (home or away) to wear a contrasting jersey for a specific cause has become a trend in the IPL.

Significant Of Pink Promise Jersey

In the presence of Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara and CEO Jake Lush McCullum, the Pink Promise Jersey for IPL 2025 was unveiled by Thavri Devi, a female solar engineer from the state.

Through ‘Pink Promise’, we strive to create a lasting impact—not just on individuals, but on their families and communities, inspiring change that ripples far beyond. Last year, we witnessed firsthand how this initiative transformed lives, and that is something we hold deeply. As a team, we take immense pride in being part of this journey, spending meaningful time at the foundation to truly understand the work being done,” former Sri Lanka captain Sangakkara said in a statement.

For the unversed, this is a CSR-led initiative carried out by RRF (Rajasthan Royals Foundation). Through a special campaign titled ‘Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai’ [India exists because of its women], Royals Pink Promise aims to promote women-led activities in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

The jersey, in particular, highlights visual representation of a solar panel in a bid to prioritize RRF’s efforts towards providing clean energy to rural women. The bandhani pattern signifies ancient art of tie-dying, also used in traditional Rajasthani women’s attire.

Rajasthan Royals To Kick-Start IPL 2025 On March 23

Under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan will kick-start their IPL 2025 campaign against IPL 2024 runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

Guwahati, their second home ground, will host their first home match against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26.

While the Sawai Mansingh Stadium will be hosting its first match of the season against Royal Challengers on April 13, the contest against MI will be the venue’s fourth match of the season.
