Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, who is currently playing in the International Masters League T20 2025 (IML T20), was dismissed by South African spinner Thandi Tshabalala with a stunning catch. However, the same spinner dismissed him in the series between the two sides back in 2007.

South African Spinner Gets Sachin With A Stunner

In the ongoing 7th match of the International Masters League T20 between Indian Masters and South African Masters, the African side were bowled out for just 85 courtesy of an outstanding hat-trick by spinner Rahul Sharma, who delivered figures of 3 for 18 in his four overs. Yuvraj Singh was also magnificent with the ball, taking 3 for 12.

After getting bowled out for 85, South Africa had the task of defending 86. In pursuit of the chase came openers Ambati Rayudu and skipper Sachin Tendulkar.

Tendulkar, who was on six after facing seven deliveries, was caught by spinner Thandi Tshabalala in the third over of the game off his own bowling while flying in the air to dismiss the Master Blaster.

Sachin was stunned seeing the catch as the off-spinner displayed brilliant reflexes to send the Master walking. India were reduced to 12 for 1.

After Sachin's dismissal, all-rounder Irfan Pathan was also dismissed by Eddie Leie in the 6th over, as India were 27 for 2. Despite that, opener Rayudu and incoming batter Pawan Negi continued to bat as India reached the target by the conclusion of 11 overs.

Tshabalala Dismissed Sachin Back In 2007

Travelling back to the year 2007, India were in Ireland for an ODI series against South Africa. The venue was Belfast, where India were playing the second ODI against the Proteas side. South Africa put up 226 on the board after the conclusion of their 50 overs, as India were in chase needing only 227 for victory.

Openers Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar started off brilliantly as they staged a brilliant 134-run partnership for the first wicket. Charles Langeveldt dismissed Ganguly in the 29th over alongside incoming batter Rahul Dravid in the 31st over.

However, Sachin played brilliantly for his 93 off 106 deliveries with 13 fours and two sixes when the same bowler, Thandi Tshabalala, dismissed him on the 5th delivery of the 32nd over as the spinner cleaned up his stumps.

Despite Sachin's dismissal, India achieved the target in the final over with five deliveries to spare. Yuvraj Singh played a crucial 49*-run knock, supported well by Dinesh Karthik's 32*, with India winning the game by six wickets in a high-profile thriller.
