 India and Australia witnessed constant action and sharp bowling with 15 wickets fall on Day 2 of the ongoing fifth and final Test between at the Sydney Cricket Ground. With the series locked at 2-2, both teams fought fiercely for control, but at stumps, India is leading by 145 runs with 4 wickets remaining in their second innings.

Australia, resumed their first innings at 9/1, but could not make much progress as India’s bowlers continued their impressive work. Jasprit Bumrah, who was outstanding throughout, opened the day’s proceedings with the crucial wicket of Marnus Labuschagne. Mohammed Siraj then made a significant impact, dismissing dangerous Travis Head and young sensation Sam Konstas in quick succession. 

Prasidh Krishna also played his part, taking three wickets for 42 runs, as bowlers wrapped up Australia’s innings for 181. 

In reply, India began their innings with openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul taking the attack to the Australian bowlers. However, Scott Boland, struck when it mattered most. With wickets falling at one end, Rishabh Pant came to the crease and turned the game. 

The flamboyant player unleashed a brilliant counterattack, and made rapid 50 off just 29 balls. His blistering knock included a flurry of boundaries, including some audacious shots.
