Virat Kohli once again had a forgettable Test match at the SCG as the batter had the same mode of dismissals as the last clash. He couldn't do much with the bat but Kohli the leader was at his absolute best as he fired up the Indian bowlers every time they took a wicket.
He showed his fiery emotions when Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Usman Khawaja on Day 1 of the SCG Test, and Kohli was at his cinematic best when Mohammed Siraj got the prized wicket of Travis Head.
Siraj, bowled a length ball angling across as Head stayed back and got the outside-edge. The ball carried safely into the hands of KL Rahul who was standing at second slip. The entire crowd went berserk and so did, Siraj, who had an animated celebration.
Kohli, too, joined in as he looked fired up and thumped his chest in anger as he celebrated alongside Mohammed Siraj.
Kohli disappoints with the bat
Virat Kohli, apart from that Perth century has been a disappointment in the Border-Gavaskar Series. In the SCG Test, pressure was on him to deliver the goods, but he failed once again to Scott Boland.
The Aussie speedster dismissed him in the same manner twice as he induced the outside-edge in both the innings and trapped Kohli in the same old fashion as the Indian star could only add 23 runs across two innings.
His Test average slipped below 47 and fans have called for his retirement as he enters the twilight of his career, but has no runs to show to the selectors.
