After the tournament-opener in Multan, the Asia Cup 2023 will move to Pallekele where the match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is scheduled on August 31.

Sri Lanka will enter the competition as the defending champions. In an unlikely triumph, they beat Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup last year. They were undefeated in the ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifier.

On the contrary, Bangladesh recently suffered an ODI series-loss at the hands of Afghanistan and that too at their home.
