[WATCH] Rohit, Kohli Practice vs Left-Armers to Prepare For Shaheen Afridi

Indian batters, mainly Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, put their nose to the grindstone on Day 3 of the ongoing conditioning camp ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 with their focus on the preparation for the Shaheen Shah Afridi challenge.

India's top-order, including Rohit and Virat, have struggled in their attempts of tackling a left-arm pacer. The biggest example of this being the Champions Trophy 2017 final where Mohammad Amir reduced the mighty Indian batting line-up to bits.

As there have been instances in the recent past where the Indian batters have found themselves in uncomfortable positions while facing the left-armers, they have included a similar bowler, although not of Shaheen's quality, for the training camp happening in Alur.

Gearing up for the challenge, Rohit and Virat worked on their game as they faced Aniket Chaudhary, a left-arm fast-bowler, in the open nets.

Chaudhary plays domestic cricket for Rajasthan and has featured in five IPL matches for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2017.

Virat's aggressive spin play

Moreover, Virat was also seen in a rampaging mode against the spinners. He faced Varun Chakaravarthy, Rahul Chahar and Tilak Varma in the session as he aimed to bat against them with aggressive strokeplay. While Virat seemingly has got his touch back, he often goes into a shell when pitted against spinners.

Notably, India are scheduled to face Pakistan on September 2.
