The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is likely to earn between Rs 6,500 crore and Rs 7,500 crore by selling the TV and digital rights for the home games of Team India which will be played across the next five years. The BCCI has reduced the base price by 25 per cent per match as compared to the previous cycle, according to Business Standard.

In 2018, Star Sports India won the media rights, for both television and digital platforms, for Rs 6138 crore approx. for the period of 2018 to 2023.

The Indian Cricket Board has reduced the overall base price to Rs 45 crore per match for the upcoming cycle. The combined base price of TV and digital broadcasting rights is Rs 3,960 crore for 88 matches to be played between 2023-2028.

Disney Star, Viacom 18 and Sony and Zee have thrown in their hats for the media rights for India's bilateral matches.

The TV and digital rights of the bilateral series have been divided in two packages, one for Rs 20 crore for the TV matches and another for Rs 25 crore per match for digital streaming.

During the upcoming cycle, India will play 88 matches at home - 36 T20I, 27 ODIs and 25 Tests. From these, 21 matches will be against Australia and 18 against England. This cycle will gave 14 matches fewer than 102 matches in the last cycle.

The BCCI has also reduced the base price of title sponsorship rights for India's home matches to Rs 2.4 crore per match. In the last cycle, the board earned Rs 3.8 crore per match from MasterCard and Paytm.

The BCCI media rights auction will take place online on August 31. This year, the BCCI will sell the digital and TV rights separately.
