Virat Kohli calls wife Anushka Sharma his "role model"

The former Indian skipper openly credits one person for this change - his beloved wife and actress Anushka Sharma. Recently, at a promotional event in Bengaluru, Kohli lauded her wife and termed her as the "role model" of his life. 

For those who have followed the Indian stalwart’s illustrious career, his transformation from a fiery, aggressive young cricketer to a calmer and more mature leader on the field has been evident. Many close to the batsman including him attribute this evolution to the stabilizing influence of Anushka.

Highlighting the deep impact Anushka has had on his personal and professional life, Kohli mentioned that she has always been his mirror, providing him with an unfiltered reflection of himself. 


He elaborated on how her dignified approach to life, conviction and courage to stand by what's right have been truly inspiring for him. In the cricketer’s words, Anushka's strength and conviction are something he seldom sees, and they continue to inspire him.

“My role model in life is my wife. I am not saying this because it's an exciting thing to say but very genuinely. She gives me a very true and honest and a clear picture of who I am, where I stand & how things are. Just the way she leads her life with a lot of dignity and the strength she has to do the right thing and stand by it. I have very rarely seen that kind of conviction. I admire that a lot and I take a lot of inspiration from her."

Meanwhile, fans are now eagerly waiting for Kohli's next appearance on the field as he gears up for the high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The excitement is particularly high given Kohli's spectacular performance in the past against the arch-rivals.
