Cricket World Celebrate Neeraj Chopra's 'Astounding Achievement'

It was not just another Sunday night in the history of Indian sports. The nation was awake even after the stroke of midnight hour as Neeraj Chopra created history at Budapest in the World Athletics Championships 2023.

Chopra won a gold medal in the men's javelin throw event. He achieved the feat with a throw that covered 88.17 metres. It helped him finish first on the podium with Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, who threw the javelin to 87.82 metres, ending as a close second.

The 25-year-old also became the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal at the World Athletics Championships.

As the whole nation flooded Twitter with laudatory messages, the cricket world also joined in the party, congratulating Neeraj on his historic achievement.
