Zaman's yorker proved too good for Shadab [X.com]

Riding on Zaman Khan's exceptional bowling spell, Lahore Qalandars got off to a remarkable start in the second half of the ongoing PSL 2024 game against Islamabad United. After Shaheen Afridi got rid of Alex Hales, Zaman dismissed Agha Salman and Shadab Khan in quick succession to wreak havoc in the United camp. 

After getting Salman caught behind, Zaman bowled an absolute ripper to clean up Shadab Khan. 

The experienced batter, who hammered a belligerent fifty in the last match against Peshawar Zalmi, came out to bat after Salman's departure. However, he couldn't make an impact this evening, being castled by Zaman's unplayable delivery. 

Zaman started his new over with two dot balls before conceding a boundary on the third. However, he bounced back remarkably, dismissing Shadab on the fourth delivery. It was an out-swinging yorker that opened up Shadab, who was beaten while playing a flick shot. 

As a result, the ball missed the outside edge of his bat, uprooting the off stump in this process. Zaman's pin-point yorker reminded fans of Lasith Malinga, arguably the greatest ever exponent of the lethal delivery. 

The twin strikes triggered a batting collapse for Islamabad United, who were reeling at 40 for six in 7.3 overs, with Azam Khan and Faheem Ashraf unbeaten in the middle.
