When it comes to a wide range of shots, there are only a few, if not none, who can match Virat Kohli’s stature. The talismanic batsman showed his class yet again on Thursday (December 28) when almost no one gave him any support whatsoever to get going.

As the first Test of the two-match series goes on, India are in deep trouble at SuperSport Park in Centurion against South Africa. Yet, Virat Kohli stood like a lone warrior, and one shot which he played against Gerald Coetzee left everyone in awe.

Coetzee bowled a short delivery outside the off stump to Kohli, who saw the opportunity to play the day’s best shot. And the Indian batter delivered, jumping on the top of the bounce to play an audacious lofted shot over cover-point. The timing was so perfect that the ball went toward the distance, and it looked so beautiful to witness.
