Virat Kohli has once more disappointed his fans and the followers of Indian cricket. The Indian maverick has fallen for six runs in the second innings of the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Notably, this adds to a string of failures that the superstar has suffered in the series. The biggest concern has been the way he has been dismissed throughout the series. The problem of poking at outside the off stump deliveries has persisted with the batter and Kohli has departed doing the same in the SCG Test.
Earlier on the second day of the match, the Indian bowlers did a brilliant job and brought the team back into the game after they were bundled out for 185 in the first innings. The Indian pacers despite the absence of Jasprit Bumrah put in a brilliant display and managed to bundle out the Aussies for 181 runs allowing a slender lead of four runs for the team.
In reply, the Indian team are looking for some quick runs to take formidable lead and put Australia under pressure in the final innings of the game. Virat Kohli's role in this venture would have been crucial given his dynamic game play.
Kohli Vents His Frustration After Getting Out
However, Scott Boland, who is known for his persistent line and length, took a tough test of Kohli's patience in which the Indian star failed. On the first delivery of the 14th over, Boland bowled a back of a length delivery at the off stump line that moved a touch away from the batter at the last moment. Kohli could not resist the temptation to poke at that and got and edge to be taken by Steve Smith at the second slip.
As Smith completed the catch Kohli was seen punching his bat and then thumping the blade on to his pads in frustration. Notably, in all the knocks in his Australian tour, Kohli has fallen while poking at outside the off stump deliveries. The batter himself seemed disappointed abou this recurring problem in his technique.
