Jasprit Bumrah Injured; 3 Players Who Can Replace India Star In Mumbai Indians In IPL 2025

In latest development India have suffered a major set back during the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The star Indian pacer and the leader of the bowling attack, Jasprit Bumrah has seemingly left the field for scan.

The Indian star has handed over captaincy to Virat Kohli for the time being. Well, the ace Indian pacer's career has been plagued with injury previously. India and in turn Bumrah's IPL franchise, Mumbai Indians will be hoping that he gets fit quickly and is available for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 and the next edition of the IPL. 

However, if somehow Bumrah is unable play the the IPL, here are three players who can replace him in Mumbai Indians.

3. Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav is an experienced customer in the IPL. The Indian pacer has played 148 matches in the league and has picked up 144 wickets in them at an economy of 8.45 and an average of 29.83. 

The pacer could be of high value for the Mumbai Indians with his wicket taking abilities in the powerplays. Although his death over skills are not at the same level as the Jasprit Bumrah, his experience can add depth, variety and flexibility to the bowling attack of the team.

2. Vidhwath Kaverappa

Vidhwath Kaverappa has been doing a brilliant job in the domestic T20s for the past couple of seasons. His numbers look brilliant and he has already proven himself as one of the best in the business in the domestic circuit.

Kaverappa can pick up wickets at any stage of the game and change the momentum in his team's favour. In the 14 matches that he has played, Kaverappa has picked up 25 wickets while having an average of 12.48 and maintaining an economy of 6.13.

Shardul Thakur has been one of the players who has been dong a decent job as a bowler in the IPL in the recent times. Though the teams he has played for have often suffered due to his economy he often found a team to play for in the auctions. However, in IPL 2025 auction none of the franchises showed interest in him and the player went unsold.

Since going unsold, Thakur has done well in the domestic arena. Especially during the SMAT 2024, Thakur was seen delivering with both the bat and the ball. Besides being a bowler who can bowl in all the phases of a T20 game, he can also prove his utility has a batter in the lower order, too.
