Venkatesh Iyer showcased his all-round brilliance in a thrilling One Day Cup match for Lancashire against Worcestershire on Wednesday, August 14, at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. 

Worcestershire needed 16 runs to win off the last two overs and having two wickets in hand, Iyer was entrusted with the ball for the 49th over.

Venkatesh Iyer did not start the over well, as he conceded 12 runs off the first four balls, which included leg byes, byes, and two wide. 

However, in a dramatic turnaround, the KKR all-rounder kept his composure and took two crucial wickets off the last two balls of the over. In the second last ball of the 49th over,  Venkatesh Iyer bowled a short ball to persuade Hinley.

 He took the chance and attempted an aerial pull shot, only to find Harry Singh positioned perfectly at deep mid-wicket, who made no mistake in taking the catch. r.

It is important to mention despite not having the best day on the field, Iyer turned the game around in the final over and secured a crucial victory for his team. His day with the ball was challenging, as he conceded 38 runs in his six overs at an economy rate of 6.33. 

His final over heroics overshadowed his earlier struggles and highlighted his ability to make a decisive impact when it mattered most.
