The highlight of the event was when the Indian flag was prominently displayed on the stadium's digital scoreboard, which served as a powerful symbol of unity and shared heritage between the two nations.


The event was further highlighted by the presentation of the ICC ODI World Cup Trophy 2023, which added a touch of cricketing grandeur to the occasion. The Olympic Room at the MCG was adorned with Indian flags, which created a vibrant and festive atmosphere for the attendees.

In a video that has gone viral on the internet, this grand event also witnessed the fans singing the Indian National Anthem which filled the iconic venue with a sense of pride and patriotism.

For Indian fans, the MCG holds a special place, as it was the venue where India secured a memorable victory against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022.  

On October 23, 2022, the match delivered one of the most dramatic finishes in cricket history. Chasing Pakistan's total of 159, India's top order faltered early, which left the Men in Blue in a precarious situation. It was then that Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya formed a crucial partnership.
