The Oval Invincibles locked horns with the Trent Rockets in the 31st match of The Hundred 2024 at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The Rockets managed to win the game by six wickets as they chased down a formidable target of 151 runs losing only four wickets with six balls remaining in the game. 

Will Jacks and Dawid Malan laid the foundation for Oval

Although, the Rockets won the match, the Oval Invincibles did not die without a fight. They won the toss and opted to bat first in the game. The openers of the Invincibles, Will Jacks and Dawid Malan got the team off to a steady start and laid the platform for the batters to come. 

Even after the dismissal of Jacks, Malan held one end and propelled the team towards a fighting total. It was a fiery cameo by Donovan Ferreira that fuelled a late blast of the Invincibles and they breached the 150 mark. The South African all-rounder scored 27 runs off 10 deliveries in which he hit three massive sixes.

The three maximums in the 19th and 20th set of the Oval innings. Ferreira slammed the first two sixes over long-on and mid-wicket off Lewis Gregory's bowling. The next was blasted over long-off of Sam Cook's bowling. These three sixes were a testament to the batter's power and big hitting abilities. 

Hardik Panyda, the Indian star all-rounder is often known for his abilities to hit consecutive sixes. These three hits from Ferreira reminded many a fan of the Pandya's six hitting abilities. 

Coming back to the game, the Trent Rockets put in a team effort and chased down the target with six wickets in hand. Rovman Powell was the highest scorer for the Rockets with 45 runs off 27 deliveries.
