New Zealand speedster Trent Boult ensured he left his mark in his final match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Playing against Papua New Guinea in the 39th match at the Brian Lara Stadium on June 17, Boult made a key breakthrough by removing Hiri Hiri, who had just hit a boundary against him.

The crucial moment unfolded in the 15th over, right after Hiri Hiri had smashed a boundary off Boult. The left-arm pacer, known for his precision and ability to bounce back, delivered a length ball angling into middle and leg.

Hiri Hiri attempted to cut the delivery but missed, resulting in the ball crashing into the leg-stump. The batter was bowled for 7 runs.

Earlier, the Black Caps won the toss and elected to bowl, showcasing their disciplined bowling attack. Tim Southee drew first blood, while Lockie Ferguson dominated the middle overs with three wickets.

At the time of writing, PNG are at 62 for 7 in 17 overs, Norman Vanua and Alei Nao at the crease.
