Travis Head is in the form of his life, and his stature in world cricket has seen a swift rise in the last couple of years. He has now added another glorious chapter to his journey as he turned on the heat in the first ODI against England with an unbeaten 154 off just 129 balls. It was a typical Travis Head innings where he smashed bowlers all over the park and batted till the end as Australia chased down the target of 316 in just 44 overs.

Travis Head got to his century in just the 30th over of the innings and reached the landmark in 92 balls. It was followed by a 'Universe Boss' celebration made famous by none other than Chris Gayle - another swashbuckling left-handed opener known to destroy bowling attacks. The left-hander got off to the mark with a boundary in the first over against Jofra Archer, and after Marsh departed in the fourth over, Head decided to counter-attack.

He smashed two fours in consecutive overs against Jofra Archer and Potts, and in the 8th over, he flicked Archer for a fantastic six. The carnage continued throughout the innings, and despite the loss of Steve Smith and Cameron Green, Head did not change his approach. He found Labuschagne for company in the 27th over, and the duo made sure that Australia did not lose any more wickets.

Travis Head's Stunning Run-Of-Form In ODIs

Travis Head became even more belligerent after his century and smashed Carse for four boundaries in a single over. Australia ended up chasing their fifth-highest ODI target, and Travis Head, with 20 fours in his knock, made it to the third in the list of most fours hit by an Australia in an ODI game.

In his last eight ODIs, Head has smashed two scores of over 150, and has got out under 50 only on two occassions. It shows the kind of form he is in, and England would have to find a way to get him out early in the second ODI if they want to level the series.
