Travis Head has been in some excellent form in recent times and the same was displayed when he took the field against England in the first ODI of the five-match series on Thursday. The Australian opener gained significant attention with his career-best unbeaten 154 and riding on his brilliance, Australia chased down England's 316 with six overs to spare.

Ben Duckett And Will Jacks Well Constructed Partnership

Earlier in the match, England captain Harry Brook won the toss and the openers did not disappoint on a batting favourable pitch. Ben Duckett, looked in sublime form and scored a magnificent 95 runs off 91 balls, although unfortunately, he missed his century by 5 runs.

On the other side, Will Jacks came up with a handy 62 as the home side piled up a huge 315 runs on the board. However, the Australian spinners changed the course of the game and did a fantastic job as England’s final seven wickets fell for just 83 runs.

The Ultimate Travis Head Show

Chasing the target, Australia did not have a good start as they lost the early wicket of captain Mitchell Marsh for just 10 runs. But that early wicket did not have a significant effect on Travis Head.

The 30-year-old showcased brilliant batting as he smashed bowlers all over the park. His scintillating innings were decorated with 20 fours and five sixes, but out of all that one shot that caught everyone's attention was in the eighth over against Jofra Archer.

In the 8th over of the second innings, Jofra Archer, known for his fiery pace, delivered a well-directed length ball that angled in towards Travis Head's body. Head showcased great composure, and remained inside the crease, while judging the line and length of the delivery. With impeccable timing and finesse, he elegantly flicked the ball over the deep square leg.

The ball soared high into the stands, which drew admiration from the crowd. This remarkable shot not only showcased Head's exceptional skill and precision but also highlighted his ability to turn things single-handedly. In the end, Australia in the curtain raiser of the five-match ODI series won the match by seven wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
