Match 12 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Trinbago Knight Riders was nothing short of a blockbuster movie. Batting first, St Kitts set a mammoth 179-run target for Trinbago, who chased it down without much effort, thanks to the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, and Andre Russell.

However, it was spinner Sunil Narine who put on the breaks of the Patriots' batting, clinching as many as three crucial wickets for TKR. Narine, a champion in T20 cricket, also made history, becoming the first-ever player to receive a red card in CPL.

As per new rules, if the fielding time is found behind the over-rate by the final over, they must field with ten players, with one receiving the dreaded red card.

As defined by CPL, the 17th over must conclude within 72 minutes and 15 seconds, the 18th over within 76 minutes and 30 seconds, the 19th over within 80 minutes and 45 seconds, and the 20th over within 85 minutes. Upon failing to achieve these targets, penalties will be imposed on the fielding side.

This was also the Pollard-led Trinbago's first win in the competition this season, placing them in fourth position in the points table. Meanwhile, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots remain winless in the tournament and continue to occupy the last spot.

The Knight Riders will face Barbados Royal in their next group-stage game on August 30.
