The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has organized a six-day preparatory camp for India's Asia Cup 2023 squad members in Alur, with fitness and honing skills being the primary objective.

On Thursday, several top players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya underwent the dreaded Yo-Yo Test and passed with flying colors. While Kohli's score of 17.2 is public, given the former India captain's Instagram post, the results of Sharma and Pandya are not known.

Meanwhile, players who featured in the Ireland T20I will most likely undergo fielding drills and skill-set training and skip the Yo-Yo Test. KL Rahul, who is making a return from injury, too, has been exempted from taking the test, along with Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Prasidh Krishna, and Tilak Varma.

Speaking to PTI, a BCCI source did quote that the tests were successful, and the BCCI will be notified soon.

Here's what the source said

"The tests were successful and the reports will be sent to the BCCI soon,"

The passing score for Indian players in the Yo-Yo Test is 16.5.

Apart from fitness tests, Indian players will also have medical examinations for parameters like blood sugar, testosterone, lipid profile, uric acid, calcium, Vitamin D, B12, creatinine, Dexa lipid profile etc. during the camp.

The final two days of the preparatory camp are expected to match simulations, which will be held under the supervision of head coach Rahul Dravid, and batting coach Vikram Rathour.

Indian players and support staff are scheduled to fly off to Sri Lanka for Asia Cup 2023 on August 30.
