In a surprising turn of events, it has been revealed that Virat Kohli, the star Indian batter has not travelled with Team India to Port of Spain ahead of the the third ODI and final ODI of the series. The news has started some heavy speculations that the star Indian batter will not take part in the third ODI after missing out on the second ODI as well. Also, Kohli did not come out to bat in the first ODI, as India have been in an experimental mood in this series.

The series is levelled at 1-1 with West Indies winning the second ODI after India took a lead in the series after the first game. Indian batters have not been able to fire in the series so far, with team management trying to give opportunities to youngsters ahead of Asia Cup and World Cup.

After a loss in the second ODI, Rahul Dravid, the head coach emphasised on giving opportunities to young players with World Cup in mind and it seems that they have made a decision to not play Kohli and Rohit in the final ODI as well. However, there is a possibility that Virat Kohli might join the team later.

Ishan Kishan though has scored fifties in both the ODIs but those knocks have come at the top of the order, and the middle order conundrum still remains unsolved. Suryakumar Yadav has failed in both the innings while Sanju too could not make an impact in the second ODI. It remains to be seen what composition India goes with in the final ODI and they would surely be hoping for a better performance from their young batters, if Kohli and Rohit does not play again.

The third ODI will be played on 1st of August at the Brian Lara Stadium at Tarouba in Trinidad.
