Smriti Mandhana is one of the finest batters in world cricket currently, and whenever she gets going, she is a treat to watch. Her effortless strokeplay has caught the imagination of cricket fans around the world, and she showed all of that in her fantastic century at M. Chinnaswamy stadium in the first ODI between the home side India and the visiting South African team.

It was almost a lone-warrior effort from the classy left-hander as India kept losing wickets at regular intervals after Harmanpreet Kaur decided to bat first after winning the toss. Mandhana though kept her cool and timed her knock beautifully, mixing caution with aggression in her 117 off 127 balls.

She hit one six and 12 fours in her knock and got to her sixth century in ODI cricket in the 43rd over. It was also her first ODI century at home, and her passionate celebration after getting to a century clearly showed what it meant for her. It was a bit tricky wicket to bat, and that makes her knock even more special and to get her infront of a Bangalore crowd, as an RCB captain would have made it even more special for her.
