In the 39th match of the T20 World Cup 2024, New Zealand will take on Papua New Guinea on June 17 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad & Tobago.

Papua New Guinea, who made their T20 World Cup debut in 2021 edition, are still looking for their first win in an ICC event. On the other hand, New Zealand's elimination came as a shock for the fans. The Blackcaps, who were the runners-up in the 2021 edition, suffered embarrassing defeats against Afghanistan and West Indies in the group stage which saw them bowing out of the World Cup.
