India's experienced batter Smriti Mandhana had a memorable outing with the bat in the Women's Big Bash League, as she hammered a blistering fifty in Adelaide Strikers' ongoing encounter against Hobart Hurricanes at the Bellerive Oval. Opening the batting for the Strikers, Mandhana struck six glorious boundaries and two massive sixes for her breathtaking knock.
Mandhana Sets WBBL On Fire With A Rapid Fifty
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Adelaide Strikers Women had a poor outing with the ball, as the Hurricanes posted a whopping 191-run total on the board. Lizelle Lee sustained her dream run, smashing a scintillating century for the second consecutive time, while Nicola Carey contributed 64 runs.
However, the Strikers strongly responded to the Hurricanes' onslaught, thanks to Smriti Mandhana's fireworks at the top order. The stylish southpaw tormented the hosts' bowling lineup, playing a superb knock on her third WBBL outing this season.
Her glorious stroke play spoke volumes for her class, as she lit up the Bellerive Oval with some fabulous shots.
However, soon after bringing up her half-century, Mandhana was dismissed by Lauren Smith, who drew the first blood for the home side in the high-voltage affair.
