Though Sanju Samson has been an active cricketer for over 13 years now, it's only very recently that his true potential has been unearthed. Samson's talent has taken the world by storm and shut his critiques in a jiffy as he recently became the first Indian to slam consecutive tons in T20Is.

Sanju Shines Bright Like A Diamond

Sanju Samson is a player who has always carried colossal potential but was never backed by the Cronos, the god of time. He managed to play only 17 T20Is in three years from 2021 to 2023, but couldn't breach the barrier of 291 runs.

But this was his first season in 2024, wherein he displayed significant improvement as a wicketkeeper-batter by creating a career-best record in just 10 T20I matches into the season with 327 runs. Not to forget, Sanju also had his best-ever IPL season, scoring 531 runs.

While Sanju Samson is on the path to achieve greater success, his father Samson Vishwanath has come forward and made a shocking accusation on big Indian stars MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and ex-India coach Rahul Dravid. In his statement, he claimed that the four mega-stars of Indian cricket are responsible for 'destroying' the Kerala stars career.

“There are 3-4 people who wasted 10 years of my son’s vital career…captains like Dhoni ji, Virat [Kohli] ji, Rohit [Sharma] ji and coach [Rahul] Dravid ji. These four people destroyed 10 years of my son’s life but the more they hurt him, the stronger Sanju came out of the crisis,” he said.

Despite Sanju Samson's early promises, consistency eluded him for years, however it seems like Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav have done something remarkable in promoting Sanju as an opener.
