India's stylish opener Smriti Mandhana had a poor outing in her second appearance in Women's Hundred, as he was dismissed for a golden duck in Southern Brave's ongoing encounter against Welsh Fire.

This was Mandhana's second abysmal performance in the tournament after she got out for 15 runs in the last game against Birmingham Phoenix.

The incident occurred in the very first set of the Brave's innings after Welsh Fire Women won the toss and invited them to bat first.

Welsh Fire skipper Tammy Beaumont's decision to bring Freya Davies for the first set paid rich dividends for her side, as she got the prized scalp of Mandhana on her very first delivery.

From over the wicket, right-arm pacer Davies bowled a good length delivery, which moved away from the southpaw after pitching around the middle stump.

As Mandhana went for a tentative half-hearted push off her back foot through the off side, she edged it, with Welsh Fire's wicket-keeper Sarah Bryce taking a simple catch behind the stumps.

After Mandhana's early wicket, the Brave had another setback, as Beth Langston dismissed Maia Bouchier for nine runs.

As of writing, the Women in Green were tottering at 39 for two at the end of 31 balls, with skipper Georgia Adams batting alongside Danielle Wyatt.
