A player, who has been knocking on the doors of Indian white-ball teams is Sai Sudharsan. After impressive outings for Gujarat Titans, India A, and Tamil Nadu, Sudharsan finally made his India debut on Sunday against South Africa in the first ODI at Johannesburg.

The left-handed batter displayed control, poise, and command during his first-ever ODI knock, where Sudharsan ended up scoring a match-winning 55* for India, helping the Men in Blue chase down 117 runs.

After the conclusion of the match, the 22-year-old spoke in length about receiving his ODI cap from stand-in skipper KL Rahul and how he has a collection of caps in his home.

Speaking to Star Sports, Sudharsan talked about his dream coming true, which has been playing for the nation and contributing to wins.

"It is amazing first to play for the country and then contribute for the team as well. I think every small kid who started playing cricket started wanting to play for the country and do their best for the team. So, I think, I had a great outing there first time.

It was a wonderful feeling, and I love that culture of giving caps wherever. I started getting the caps in Tamil Nadu. I have a separate hanger in my house to keep every cap, whichever I get from the huddle. KL Bhai (Rahul) giving it is definitely special."

With already 1-up in the three-ODI series, India will look to gain an unassailable 2-0 lead, when both teams clash in the second encounter on December 19 at Gqeberha.
