Two of India’s most loved cricketers at this moment Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill forged a scintillating 189-run partnership on Thursday (November 2) during India’s World Cup clash against Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

However, both of them missed out on well-deserved centuries, with Gill falling to Dilshan Madhusanka after a run-a-ball 92, followed by Kohli falling to the same bowler after a 94-ball 88.

Nevertheless, it was India's prolific pace trio, comprising Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj, who stole the show later in the match in the Men in Blue's thumping 302-run victory over Sri Lanka, but a small incident, which can only be termed hilarious, between Kohli and Gill also caught a lot of attention.

The incident took place when Kohli and Gill were having a break under scorching heat in Mumbai. While Kohli was kneeling, Gill came close to him, potentially to have a conversation. Kohli, out of nowhere, then put his bat right towards Gill’s ‘box’, and the youngster immediately felt a slight pain before beginning to walk back towards the crease.
