India are playing against England in the first ODI of the three match series at the Jamtha Stadium in Nagpur. England batted first in the match after winning the toss and posted a respectable total of 248 runs before they were bundled out in the 48th over of the innings. 

England started their innings in a blazing away as Ben Duckett and Phil Salt were on the aggression from the very first ball. However, India made a comeback with three quick wickets. Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell put up a resilient show to get England on track and proel them towards the fighting total that they had.

India Lose Rohit And Jaiswal Early

It was expected that India would easily chase down the target. The Indian fans expected fireworks from their stars since the beginning of the innings. However, India lost their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma early and were under pressure.

It was at this stage that Shreyas Iyer joined hands with Shubman Gill in the middle and turned things around for the 'Men in Blue'. He did not look fazed by the wickets that have fallen and put his foot on the pedal from the first delivery of his innings. 

Shreyas Iyer Destroys The English Bowlers With Supreme Ease

Iyer unleashed his fury and oozed supreme confidence as he thrashed the English bowlers to all parts pf the ground. He hit England's fastest, Jofra Archer for back to back sixes. But the highlight of his innings so far has been the switch hit that he hit against Adil Rashid in the 11th over. 

It was the fourth ball of the 11 over, that Rashid bowled at the off and middle stump line. Iyer spotted the line and length early and went down on his knees quickly. He changed his grip and hit the switch hit over point for a dramatic boundary. Shreyas Iyer went from there and completed his half century of just 30 deliveries. However, he was ultimatley dismissed by Jacob Bethell for 59 off 36 deliveries.
